Calcium stearate is a common chemical additive, with good lubricity, stability and moisture resistance, widely used in plastics, rubber, coatings, cosmetics, food and other fields.

Calcium stearate is a white powder, insoluble in water, cold ethanol and ether, soluble in hot benzene, benzene and turpentine and other organic solvents, slightly soluble in hot ethanol and ether. When heated to 400°C, it decomposes slowly and is flammable. When encountering strong acid, it will decompose into stearic acid and the corresponding calcium salt, which is hygroscopic.

Application
 

1. It is widely used as a heat stabilizer in PVC hard products. It can increase the gelling speed when combined with salt-based lead salt and lead soap.

2. As a halogen absorber in polypropylene and polyethylene, it can eliminate the negative impact of the residual catalyst in the resin on the color and stability of the resin.

3. Also used as a lubricant for polyolefin fibers and molded products.

4. Used as release agent, plasticizer, grease thickener, waterproofing agent for textiles, lubricant in the paint industry, etc.in rubber processing.

5. It can also be used as food additives, feed additives, cosmetics, etc.
