Copper sulfate (CuSO4) is a kind of inorganic compound widely used in industrial production and scientific research. The compound is commonly found in the form of copper sulfate pentahydrate (CuSO4·5H2O), a blue crystal commonly known as blue alum [1]. The substance will lose crystal water under dry conditions and become white or off-white powdery anhydrous copper sulfate. The preparation of copper sulfate is usually achieved by the reaction of concentrated sulfuric acid and copper, and can also be obtained by treating a mixture of copper-bearing ores and sulfuric acid.
